Coconut Cream Pie Made Simple

For many years, people have enjoyed this coconut cream pie.  

Flatten the dough into a 9-inch pie pan and flute the edges. Chill for at least half an hour. Set oven temperature to 400 degrees. 

Spread foil two times its thickness over the crust. Use pie weights, dry beans, or raw rice to fill. 

Turn the oven down to the lowest rack and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edges are golden.

After 3-6 minutes of baking without the foil and weights, the bottom should be golden brown.  

Bring the flour, sugar, and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. 

Combine milk and cook, stirring occasionally, over medium-high heat until mixture thickens and bubbles.
